Wedding Hair Durham NC
romantic updos with chill vibes
Our hair…we can have a complicated, love/hate relationship with it sometimes. Ok, many times! ; ) Just when we finally start to love our hair, we now face the challenge of bridal hairstyling for our wedding day. It's understandable for many brides to feel anxious about finding a bridal hairstylist who can not only style their hair texture but also patiently work with them throughout this oftentimes stressful journey. Versatility Hair Studio is for the bride who may feel overwhelmed with her hair texture at times yet still wants to embrace her natural beauty so she can look and feel like herself on her wedding day. I'm Dareece, solopreneur of Versatility Hair Studio, and I help brides in Durham NC achieve romantic wedding hairstyles while being a calm, supportive presence.
Having curly, coily, or wavy hair is safe here.
Have you ever felt ostracized during a hairstyling session because someone said your hair was difficult, bad, hard to manage, or too much work? You are not alone.
Having any kind of texture in our hair can make it challenging to find a bridal hairstylist who can successfully style our hair on our wedding day. Before working with me, many of my brides were made to feel bad about their hair because they encountered an inexperienced hairstylist or someone who wouldn’t patiently work with their hair texture. It’s no surprise that numerous brides have hair styling traumas and fears of updos falling, curls going flat or battling uncontrollable frizz.
Every bride deserves beautiful, structured wedding hair, regardless of their hair texture. I welcome all hair textures while patiently maintaining the integrity of the hair throughout each styling session.
yes, i book parties of one
Some brides only need hair services for themselves. Yet, finding a talented bridal hairstylist who works with the bride only can be like searching for a unicorn.
The wedding industry thrives on big weddings and promotes having all the things, like large bridal parties and booking minimums, in order for a wedding to feel “complete”. Brides are often times pushed to increase bridal party numbers and hastily hire beauty vendors, even though this is not what they truly want. It makes sense for brides having intimate weddings to seek value, quality and personalized experiences when working with a bridal hairstylist so closely on their wedding day.
It’s ok if it’s just you that needs on location bridal hairstyling. Working with me is about discovering what a brides wedding day hair needs are in order to create a customized experience that is a right fit for her.

“she is incredible at her job”
Dareece was simply amazing for my wedding. She is incredible at her job, but more than that she’s professional, kind, patient, warm and wonderful to work with. She supported every change or decision through out the process. I am so glad she was part of my wedding day and I recommend her to everyone.

Dareece was so good and talented! My hair never holds a curl but it held up the whole night! She did my bridesmaids and mom’s hair as well and was able to get everything done quickly and beautifully.

Professionalism is who i am
What has been your experience working with or contacting wedding vendors so far? Chances are it’s been a mixed bag of some really great vendors and some not so great.
Lack of professionalism in the wedding industry is a thing. There are so many horror stories from brides about vendors ghosting them, having bad attitudes, or poor work performance. On their wedding day! Nobody has time for that. Dealing with these incidents can cause brides unnecessary stress, as though they don’t have enough to worry about! It’s logical for brides to have apprehensions when choosing vendors because they want someone who is going to show up, do their job well, and be pleasant to work with.
I am here to help alleviate any stress I can for brides. That means I show up with a professional, friendly demeanor so brides feel confident that their time with me on the wedding morning will be a positive, calm experience.
i care about your wellbeing.
Only those who care about you can hear you when you’re quiet…Pinterest
All too often, brides are pushed through this cycle of engagement, wedding planning, wedding day without anyone taking the time to ask them how are they feeling. Let’s be real, getting married comes with sooo many emotions, not just excitement. Yet it can be a lonely road for many brides because any feelings other than pure bliss can be frowned upon…side eye. This can make women shut down and feel isolated or like something is wrong with them if they don’t meet other people’s standards of how they should feel. I wrote a blog post about this.
It’s more than just styling hair when brides work with me. From start to finish, I will you seek to understand how you’re truly feeling while offering empathy and non judgmental listening.
“She was exactly what i needed”
On wedding day, she was EXACTLY what I needed. The time I spent sitting in her chair, even when we weren't talking and just existed in each other’s presence, was so calming to me. I can't express how appreciative I am for how she helped prepare me to go into the day level-headed and mindful.
